Tommy passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024 in Canton, Texas. He was born in Blakely, GA on July 30, 1953 to Will and Bertha Weaver.
Tommy grew up in South Alabama. He married Melba on July 1, 1983 and they celebrated 40 years of marriage in 2023. Though he and Melba never had children together, Tommy raised Brent as if he were his own blood. Tom or T.K., as he preferred to be called (just don’t call him “late for dinner”), lived a simple life and loved his family fiercely. Known for his green thumb and joking nature, many of his grandchildren carry memories of learning to enjoy life while in the garden. He was a fountain of information; he knew something about everything and would gladly answer any question at the small price of enduring 20 of his jokes per question. He was never too busy for anyone and had a way of making you forget that time existed when you were with him because you’d look up after a five minute visit and it would be dark. Tom will forever be treasured by his family and remembered through jokes, vegetables, long visits, and beans and cornbread.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Bertha Weaver; brother, Chester Weaver; grandson, Gauge Gray; great-granddaughter, Josleigh Setser.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Melba Weaver; son and daughter in-law, Brent and Jennie Gray; grandchildren: Rayleigh Setser and husband, Joshua, MaKenzie Gray-Ritcher and husband, Christian; Lexie Gray, Garett Gray and wife, Kamri, Maggie Gray, Gavin Gray; great grandchild, Paisley Gray; sisters, Jeanette Kincaid and Bernice Pilley.
Inurnment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
