Thomas Wesley Berry, 8, of Canton, Texas passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Lakeside Baptist Church. Bro. Justin Howe will be officiating, followed by a graveside service at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home.
Thomas was born on December 26, 2014, at Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas to Tommy Berry and Tara Berry. He attended Canton Elementary and was just promoted to third grade on Friday, May 19, 2023. He was known by family and friends as an affectionate child, who loved to share his hugs and always wanted to be best friends. He was also full of mischief. How many parents can tell the tale of being stopped at the airport security checkpoint and miss their flight, due to a nerf gun in a carry-on backpack that was removed twice before? Thomas was an active boy who loved sports that involved constant movement, as he was always on the move. He loved his Mustang soccer team, Astros baseball team, and basketball team. He was a fan of going to the waterpark and doing anything outdoors. Sharpie markers were his biggest weakness – he just could not resist a clean white surface! Anybody who knew Thomas knew two things, he loved the color orange, and he made friends everywhere he went. A beautiful child of God who loved electronic games, his dragon blanket, and fishing with family.
Thomas will live on in the hearts and memories of his surviving parents Tommy and Tara Berry, sisters Tessa and Taylin, all of Canton, TX; grandparents Donna Andes, of Lecompton, KS and Syble and Jim Stallings, of Sumner, TX; great-grandmother, Neita Bahnmaier, of Lawrence, KS; Uncle Rick, Aunt Pamala, and cousin Grace Wright of Kansas City, MO; as well as his large and loving extended family, friends, coaches, teachers, and the community.
Those meeting him at Heaven's door are his grandfather, Richard Wright and great-grandfather, Joe Bahnmaier. We know he is showing off his dancing skills and playing ball.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27 at Eubank Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Lakeside Baptist Church will be live streaming the 3:00 pm service at their website: https://lakesidecanton.com/.Live.
