Services for Ronnie Darrell Shelton, 79, of Canton, will be held 2 pm Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Dr. Mark Moore and Dr. Michael Hackney officiating. Interment will be in Starr Cemetery.
Mr. Shelton passed away February 20, 2023 at his home. He was born March 13, 1943 in Orange County, Texas to William Henry and Mary Frances Blalock Shelton.
Ronnie was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton. He retired from the City of Mesquite. Ronnie served on the Starr Cemetery Committee for many years. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting with his grandsons.
Mr. Shelton is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Cleta Mae Shelton; son, Bruce Darrell Shelton; and his parents, William and Mary Shelton.
Ronnie is survived by his son, Randy and Lori Shelton; two grandsons: Jordan and Lacey Shelton, and Cameron Shelton; brother, Carl and Virginia Shelton; sister-in-law, Novell Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Allen, Gary Allen, Thomas Walls, Truman Oakley, Tom Harp, Todd Kelley, Barry Kelley, Spencer Smith and his 42 Domino Club.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Starr Cemetery Association PO Box 1152, Canton, TX 75103
