Minnie went home to the Lord peacefully on December 23, 2024, at her home in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was born on September 15, 1939, in Colfax, Texas to Buel Franklin Edmonson and Sarah Clota McNeil Edmonson.
Minnie grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1958. Minnie married David Kernohan on December 31, 1965, at First Christian Church, their family church, for many years. Minnie was a prayer warrior to anyone in need of prayers. She was the best example of Christian love and devotion. Minnie taught Sunday School, was active in Vacation Bible School, she sung in the choir and taught many bible studies over the years. Her love for God and for people would shine through in her smile and in her dedication to the Lord.
Minnie was an artist of all crafts and sewing. Growing up her daughters had the best clothes; an original Minnie creation, sewn for them. She dearly loved her family and having them around brought joy to her heart. Minnie’s best day was a day of crafting or baking with her daughters.
Minnie will be missed but her memory will live on in the hearts and the memories that all that knew her hold dear.
Those here to cherish her memory: daughters, Susan Grayson and husband, Dwight, Karen Kernohan, Lisa Mateja and husband, Todd; grandchildren: Philip Grayson, Hanna Flores and husband, Ryan; great grandchild, Landon Flores; brother, Byron Edmonson; sister-in-law, Annabel Edmonson; brother-in-law, Steve Rhodes; nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.
