Linda Kay Townsend

Services for Linda Kay Townsend, 67, of Canton, are scheduled for 3 pm Friday at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Wick Wilkerson and Bro. James Nickell officiating. Interment will be in Colfax Cemetery.

Linda passed away Wednesday in Tyler.

She was born November 24, 1948 in Wills Point to Thurman Robert and Mildred Wallace Knox Burns.

She was a member of the Little Hope Baptist Church and was considered the heart of the Little Hope Community. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, painting, sewing, quilting and cooking.

Mrs. Townsend is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronnie Lee Burns; brother-in-law, Jerry Thomas Hobbs and nephew, Joe Shane Hobbs.

Linda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis Cecil Townsend of Canton; sister, Brenda Hobbs of Canton; niece, Brandy and Jason Squires of Pottsboro; great-nephew, Jaxon Squires of Pottsboro; brother-in-law, Elton and Arminda Townsend of Greeley, CO; 2 sister-in-laws: Denise and Dan Axsom of Akron, CO and Tonya and Terry Rohde of Brighten, CO; many loving nieces and nephews and her beloved Yorkie, Roxy.

Visitation will be 6-8 Thursday at the funeral home.
