Lela, who resided in Wills Point, TX went home to the Lord on January 19, 2023. She was born in Dallas, Texas on February 16, 1951, to Johnie Mason and Willie Hazel (Redding) Wooten. During Lela’s life she loved to travel. She made trips to Hawaii, the Bahamas and numerous trips to Nashville. Lela loved country music and she loved to dance. Her job allowed her to meet several country music celebrities over the years. Lela also enjoyed planting flowers all over her gardens. Her biggest enjoyment however, were her frequent trips to the casinos. Lela absolutely loved to play at the casinos with her family and have fun. She adored spending time with her family and she told everyone how very proud she was of her son and grandson for serving this country in our military.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Johnie and Hazel Wooten.
Lela is survived by her loving family: daughters: LaChelle’ Tate, Briana Srogi; son, Darak Tate; grandchildren: Christopher Tate, Brian Srogi, Jonathan Srogi, Serenity Tate, Kira Tate; sister, Peggy Walser; brother, Johnie Wooten, Jr. and wife, Lori; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
