The man. The Myth. The Legend. Larry, who was known for his quick wit, was a man who left a legacy of fearlessness, laughter, compassion, and an absolute love for Fox News and trips to Walmart. Larry, in his 79 years, changed the lives of so many people; strangers and family alike.
Larry was married to his wife, Dianna, for 31 hair raising years. They shared laughter daily, joy regularly, and anger only on occasion. Between the two, they raised six exceptional children. Larry instilled, what he considered to be, the most important qualities of life: to have integrity, to work hard, to know when to admit when they were wrong, to love unconditionally, and of course how to play cards like a card shark. He fearlessly taught each one how to drive, with a casual conversation and an occasional cuss word.
He enjoyed spending time on the golf course and his man trips with longtime friends and his boys. Larry never turned down a trip to the boats or a trip out of the house. He was a Mason and a member of the Rotary Club. He was also a member of the People's Church in Jacksonville.
He served the City of Tyler for 26 years as the Director Parks and Recreation, then moved on to city government in Jacksonville, and ending his career as the City Manager in the City of Bullard.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Doug Morgan and his mother, Ginger Lincoln-Morgan. He is survived by his wife Dianna, his children, and their spouses: Penny and Chris Reedy, Toby and Julie Morgan, Todd Morgan, Gina Sharpe, Tabitha and Michel Gibson, Wendy and Bryan Hunter. Grandchildren Walker and April Roach, Will and Karrigan Roach, Weston and Kristen Roach, Lizzie Reedy, Sophie Reedy, Conner Reedy, Maddie Morgan, Ashley Morgan, Max and Julia Sharpe, Morgan Sharpe, Cale Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Jackson Hunter, Hayden Hunter. The family welcomes donations to the Children's Miracle Network as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers. Memorial service honoring Larry will be held on September 15, 2023, at 10:00, at Eubank Funeral Home, Canton, Texas.
