Katie Daphnie Brittain

Mrs. Brittain passed away at her home January 4, 2016. She was born October 30, 1922, in Ben Wheeler to Olin and Thelma Pennington Philen.

Katie was a life-time member of the Holly Springs Methodist Church. Katie traveled the world in her lifetime but considered Texas her home. Her constant passions were education, reading and gardening as well as her family and her church.

Mrs. Brittain is preceded in death by her husband, Theron Weaver Brittain and two sons: Theron Weaver Brittain, Jr. and Larry Mark Brittain.

Katie is survived by her grandchildren: Theron Weaver Brittain, III of Ben Wheeler, Christina and Besin Hatinoglu of London, England, Cole Brittain of Gunnison, Colorado, and Katherine Brittain of San Francisco, California; daughter-in-laws: Patty Brittain of Ben Wheeler and Bo Brittain of San Diego, California; and a great-granddaughter, Mira.
