Jim Howard Peel

Funeral services for Jim Howard Peel, 78, of Canton, Texas will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 8th, 2022, at Eubank Funeral Home, Bro. Mike Roberson officiating. Family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am prior to the service.

Jim passed away on Thursday, August 4th, 2022. He was born October 19th, 1943, in Martin's Mill, Texas to R. S. and Lena Austin Peel. Jim considered his perfect day to be outside, on the tractor or in his truck. He met the woman he wanted a lifetime with and on February 8, 1961, he and Carolyn were joined in holy matrimony. He spent 31 years working for TU Electric before retiring and becoming a farmer/rancher. Jim loved spending time with Brian, working with him in the hayfield…they are now together again! Jim liked spending his free days working in his yard, going fishing or playing golf. He has been a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of Canton and enjoyed greeting parishioners and guests as they arrived. He was a very strong and soft spoken, loving man that would do anything for his family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, R. S. and Lena Peel; grandson, Brian Peel; and sisters, Linda Slimp and Brenda Blanton.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Carolyn Peel; son, Keith and Dena Peel; daughter, Carol Ann and Todd Blair; grandchildren: Brittney and Derik Rogers, Meagan Bell; great-grandchildren, Avery Rogers and Chase Rogers; brothers, David and Janice Peel, Billy and Sue Peel; sister, Margaret and Kevin Fulgham.

Serving as pallbearers are Derik Rogers, Jace Peel, Drew Sellers, Ben Blanton, Justin Peel and Chase Rogers. Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
