Services for Jimmy Carroll “Jimbo” Harris, 53, of Seven Points, will be 2 pm Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Fred Cooper, Bro. Barry Boatright and Tim Scharfenberg officiating.
Jimbo passed away August 28, 2020 at his home. He was born January 23, 1967 in Arlington to Billy and Edna Harris.
Jim was a man of many talents, including playing various musical instruments, hunting, fishing and providing much comic relief. Jimbo was so funny that you could not help but laugh. We often said, “You can’t take him anywhere!”
Jimbo retired from the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department and served at Seven Points and Trinidad Police Departments. He also worked for Door Control, Garrett’s Plumbing, Schneider Electric and Guardian Glass.
Jim’s life has made a profound effect on the universe, even though he would never believe it. He called himself a grown man, and taught many young people a great deal of things. Jimbo was incredibly smart and said he had an “Encyclopedia Education.” He would read encyclopedias from cover to cover when he was young.
Jim loved Jesus, feared God and served Him. He would want you to know how much God loves you.
Jimbo loved his children, grandchildren, hunting, fishing, his motorcycle and music.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, Billy Harris, and his son, Austin Harris. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters: Jami and John Farris, Angela Wright and Robert Poteet, and Laci and Matt Mizell, son, Kyle Price and Courtney Holloway; sisters: Carol and Cal Fogleman and Linda Rasor; mother, Edna Davis; grandchildren: Jaynie, Layla, Jenna, Haven, Axel, Merit, and two bonus grandchildren: Adi and Keygan.
To those who visited and prayed for our family: You will never know how much it meant to all of us. Your outpouring of love has been incredible. Thank you so very much.
