Jerrald Wayne Kennedy passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 13, 2023. He was born on April 12, 1939 in Wills Point, Texas to Allison Wesley Kennedy and Ellie Foster Kennedy.
Jerrald grew up in Wills Point and Dallas area. On June 5, 1965, he married his one true love, Billie Coop. The couple built a beautiful life together. Jerrald was a member of Lavon Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. He was a Godly Man who touched many lives. For years, he drove bus #10 for Lavon Drive Baptist Church making sure the children in the neighborhood had a ride. He would take the time to visit the children during the week to ask them to join the children’s group at church and let them know they always had a ride to church. Jerrald was a hardworking man that enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping when he was not tinkering in his shed or working on his 61 Corvette. He loved his dog, Oscar, and spoiled his wife. Spending time with family on vacations or around the dinner table was the best times. Jerrald will be dearly missed, but lives on in the memories of all that knew and loved him.
Jerrald is preceded by his parents, Allison and Ellie Kennedy: brother, William Warren Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Kennedy; children, Brian and Wendy Kennedy, Becky and Greg Roddy, Randy and Dawn Kennedy, Sandy and Walt Stutts; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a host of other family and dear friends.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
