Jim went home to the Lord peacefully in Ennis, Texas on October 6, 2023. He was born on August 24, 1940 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Bland Landers Jr. and Missouri Belle Wyatt Landers.
Jim grew up in area around Grant, OK where he spent many years learning the culture and dances from his mother’s family and tribe. He was married to his beloved wife, Patricia "Ann" Swaffar Landers, for 45 years at her passing in 2015. He was Baptist by faith. Jim enjoyed reading and learning everything about the history and historical events. He would attend civil war reenactments and when traveling, never passed a historical sign without checking it out. Jim was an avid reader and enjoyed quiet evenings on the porch reading. Some days you would find him working in his garden, other days you might not find him home; he would be out and about just driving around the countryside exploring. Jim biggest joy was time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed but live on in the hearts and memories of all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Doug Landers and wife, Amy; daughter, Tammi Everitt and husband, Rodney; grandchildren, Cody Landers, Brandon Landers, Chelsey Everitt and Micah Everitt; sister, Patty Frost; numerous other family and friends.
