Jackie passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on December 15, 1935 in Chillicothe, Texas to Merl Edward Jones and Edith Louise Kyle Jones.
Jackie had many hats throughout his life: rancher, owner of a muffler shop, a US postal mail carrier and a volunteer fireman for Ben Wheeler. He sat on the Board of Directors for a bank for over 30 years. Jackie belong to the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was always involved in the community he lived in. Jackie was always the first one to give his fellow man help.
Most important to Jackie was family. He adored his bride, Wanda, of almost 67 years and dearly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He took pride in being their "Pa" Jackie loved life. He was baptist by faith. Jackie's memory and love will live on in the hearts and memories of those that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Merl and Edith Jones; daughter, Paula Jones Moore; grandson, Corey Merl Jones.
Jackie is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Jones; son and daughter-in-law, David and Angie Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dane Johnson; grandchildren: Justin and Susan Oxford, Casey and Callie Jones; great-grandchildren, Paige Oxford, Matthew Oxford, Carsten Jones and Callen Jones; a host of other family and friends.
Interment will be at Haven Of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
