Hugh Wayne Thornton

Hugh grew up in Oregon, WI. He graduated from Oregon High School. He received his Associate’s Degree from Devry Tech in Chicago. On March 23, 1973 he married his love, Ann Maria Holbert. They lived in the Canton area since 1985. Hugh was Baptist by faith and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. He was a commercial pilot for many years. He worked for MURA (Cyclotron), Four Lakes Aviation as instructor and pilot, Engineer for CBS TV Station in Madison, WI, and was a pilot for Frontier and Continental Airlines. He retired in 1999. Hugh enjoyed traveling, camping and visiting with friends and family. He loved his family and extended family. Hugh will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Thornton; siblings, Robert, Keith, Eva and Nora.

Hugh is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ann Maria Thornton of Canton, TX; children, Mike and Cindy Thornton of Kerrville, TX, Danny and Suzanna Thornton of Round Rock, TX, Bill and Sherri Thornton of Pittsburg, PA, Lee and Emily McCauley of Brighton, CO, Chris McCauley of Aurora CO, Wende Thornton and Tina Millard of Athens, AL; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Hugh’s life will be held at a later date.
