Services for Herbert Harry Atherton , 81, of Wolfe City, Texas, are scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jim Sherwin officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mabank, Texas.

He passed away October 18, 2014 in Greenville, TX.

Herbert was born October 19, 1932 in Kemp, TX, to John Charles Atherton and Bashie Oleta Williamson Atherton.

Herbert was a Christian by faith and married 59 years to his precious wife Roylene. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and gardening in his spare time.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lula Macek, Elsie Splawn, Mary Guinn, brothers, Johnny and Carroll Atherton.

Pallbearers are Roy Atherton, Dan Turrentine, Tommy Binford, Brad Pickerill, Cody Clark, Kenneth Jones.

Family will receive friends Wednesday 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
