George Arthur Smith

Mr. Smith passed away November 8, 2015, in Haslet, TX. He was born July 3, 1941, in Weslaco, TX to Hubert and Bonnie Music Smith.

Mr. Smith was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He never turned a friend away, always lent a helping hand and never asked for anything in return. He owned his own trucking business and tree farm. George loved the outdoors, watching the deer and feeding all the animals. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Curtis Lee Smith and Mack Hubert Smith.

George is survived by his wife of 43 years, Hettie Smith; daughter and her husband, Joy and Tom Robb; two grandchildren: Hunter and Ashley Robb; two sisters: Maureen Costa and Jeanne Blackshear.

Family will receive friends 6-8 Tuesday at the funeral home.

There will never be another one like "Georgie-Pordgie." He was loved by all and will be truly missed by family and friends.
