A memorial service for George Michael Knight, 65, of Canton, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Knight passed away February 20, 2020, at his home in Canton. He was born November 15, 1954 to Manuel Cozell Knight and Nina Myrtis Stroman Knight.
George grew up in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School. He married Mary Hicks on June 16, 1978 and had lived in Canton since then. George worked for the City of Canton for over 23 years. He enjoyed watching wrestling, but was a quiet man who enjoyed simple things...he especially enjoyed his dogs and cat.
Mr. Knight is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Loretta Cato and Pat Peachtree.
George is survived by his wife, Mary Knight of Canton; brothers: Wayne Ray and Karen Hargrove of Elmo and Larry Knight of Athens; sisters: Marilyn and Jeff Henry of Edgewood and Doris Hargrove of Grand Saline; and numerous nieces , nephews and other relatives.
