Services for Gary “Coach” Glenn Fain, 60, of Canton, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton with Bro. Mark Moore officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home.
Gary “Coach” passed away November 26, 2016 in Dallas, TX.
He was born January 17, 1956 in Ft. Worth, TX to Jimmie Murphy, who raised him with Eugene Murphy.
Gary grew up in Dallas alongside his brothers, Harold and David. During his childhood he enjoyed sports, and was an active member of the Boy Scouts, earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout and elected as a vigil of the Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1978. He soon married the love of his life, Sharon, on June 2, 1979. He coached for 14 years in Dayton, TX before moving to Canton where he coached for another 14 years. Gary also shared his love of sports as an organizer for Challenger League Sports, a sports team for mentally and physically disabled individuals. He served as an assistant scout master for Troop 378 of the Boy Scouts. He was an avid duck hunter. After retirement, he enjoyed raising cows with his son Bryan Fain. He was a deacon at Lakeside Baptist Church. Above all, he always put God first.
Gary is survived by his Wife, Sharon Elizabeth Fain; Son, Benjamin & Adrian Fain; Son, Bryan Glenn Fain; Son, Baylor & Kelli Fain; Grandsons, Audie & Asher Fain; and Brothers, Harold & Susan Fain and David & Amarylis Fain.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Eugene & Jimmie Murphy.
Family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill, TX.
