A memorial service for Deborah L. Bateman, 65, of Wills Point, will be held 2 pm Monday, January 31, 2022, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Edwin Parker, Bro. Joe Hall and Bro. Kenny Rowe officiating.
Mrs. Bateman passed away January 26, 2022 in Tyler. She was born August 2, 1956 in Rockwall to James Marion and Nellie Mae Gillentine Lilley.
Debbie grew up in Rockwall, Garland and Texarkana before moving to Wills Point in 1969. She graduated from Wills Point High School in 1974. Debbie married Bill Bateman on June 21, 1974. She worked at Wills Point Primary for 26 years as a special aide and library aide. Debbie enjoyed reading, playing games, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, traveling and spending time with their best friends, Ed and Teri Parker.
Mrs. Bateman is preceded in death by her parents, James and Nell Lilley; and grandparents: Ruby Lilley and Bill and Tommie Gillentine.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Luther (Bill) Bateman of Wills Point; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and James Montgomery of Quinlan; son, James R. Bateman of Canton; four grandchildren: Westin (Chey) Montgomery, Kolby Montgomery, Cassie Montgomery and Emma Bateman; two sisters: Vickie Hall of Canton and Melanie and Tony Ringueberg of Lufkin; brother-in-law, James W. and Myrlas Bateman of Myrtle Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
