Russ and I met Doc when he worked with Russ at Crowell & Associates - way back in "the day" when Doc lived in McKinney (the first time...).  When Doc met Cindy, you could tell she was "the one"!!!  We enjoyed all of Doc's music stories, hearing about the musicians he had known and played with throughout his life, and going to see him play.  We also enjoyed spending time with him and Cindy after they married.  Doc had a truly wonderful soul, and we are sure he is now jamming in Heaven with all the other great musicians that went before him...  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cindy, Mary Ann & Pete, and the rest of the family.  

I have known David (Doc) since 1966  he played Guitar in my Group (The Soul Spinners)  out of Fayetteville N.C.  He stayed with me and we backed so many artist such as Clyde McFatter, Roy Hamilton and many many more  he also help other performers such as Ronnie Milsap  when one of his members were sick . Doc was such a great asset to the groups we worked with . Doc played Guitar, Keys and bass during  our road work this guy would give the shirt off his back . I will miss Doc very much . We were going to take a trip to Nashville next year ,I think I will still take the trip in his memory . Miss and Love you David (Doc)  Holliday .

Will miss David.  I have many memories of watching David play in and around Beaumont, times with the Winters, and many others.  I think the last gig we did together was one night at a restaurant club on Hwy 365 in Nederland. RIP David!

Absolutely loved watching Doc play the bass!! He was our favorite!!

DAVID AND I WERE CONNECTED WHEN WE  WERE  VERY YOUNG. HIS GRANDMOTHER WAS OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER  AT SABINE TABERNACLE AT A VERY YOUNG AGE. WE ATTENDED THE SAME SCHOOLS AND GRADUATED FROM FRENCH  HIGH SCHOOL. WE STARTED A BAND OUR SENIOR YEAR CALLED THE "TWILIGHTS". FREDDY NOLAN- SINGER, ROBERT REEDER- DRUMS, EDGAR WINTER- SAX, MY BROTHER TOM HARMON- BASE, ME-THE KEYBOARD AND DAVID HOLIDAY- GUITAR. DAVID CONTINUED  A MUSIC CAREER MOST OF HIS LIFE. I SAW HIM LAST WHEN HE AND HIS WIFE CAME TO VEGAS AND WE MET AT THE PALACE STATION HOTEL CASINO. HE WILL SURELY BE MISSED. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING HIM AGAIN WHEN WE MEET IN HEAVEN. EARL HARMON

Some of my favorite moments was being able to sing and preform with such an humble great guitar player. I'll always remember you doc. Your warmth, your smile and your love of our music.
