Christene Johnson Tidwell

Services for Christene Tidwell, 93, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2 pm Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. David Fortner officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Tidwell passed away at her home on December 27, 2018. She was born November 4, 1925 in Edgewood to Ernest and Maude Beard Preston.

Christene was a member of the Walnut Springs Baptist Church in Canton. She lived most of her life in Edgewood and retired from the First National Bank after many years of service. Church as a big part of her life. She loved Gospel Singing and was a member of a group for many years.

Mrs. Tidwell is preceded in death by her parents; husbands: William A. Tipton, Talbert Johnson and Ed Tidwell; brothers: Frank, Ennis and Dick Preston; and sisters: Lois Bible, Gladys Wisdom, Frances Burnett and Ernestene Fullwider.

Christene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Eli McPherson of Edgewood; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Deborah Johnson of Nocona; five grandchildren: Clint McPherson, Jody and Brandi McPherson, Cory and Jennifer Johnson, Holly and Harry McKeown and Amie and Dreau Kirkland; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister Maudine Hill of Waxahachie.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
