Services for Charles Franklin Huddle, 78, of Canton, are schedule for 10 am Monday, August 8, 2016, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Dr. Mike Roberson and Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Graveside services will be in Haven of Memories.
Charles, who was better known as "Sonny," passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, in Tyler. He was born November 17, 1937, in Ben Wheeler to William Harmon and Hazel Charlsey Johns Huddle.
Sonny was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. He grew up in Ben Wheeler and graduated from Van High School. He was proud to have served in the Marines. Sonny moved back to Van Zandt County and started his businesses including Custom Metal Works and Huddle Steel Buildings. He served two terms on the Canton City Council. Sonny was a big supporter of his family's activities and had lot of friends.
Mr. Huddle is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jackie Huddle; and a sister, Bobbie Yvonne Huddle.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue Huddle of Canton; three sons: Kerry and Renee Huddle, Todd Huddle, and Scott and Tara Huddle, all of Canton; eight grandchildren: A.J., Savannah, Andrew, Sam, Will, Jonathan, Ryan and Sara Huddle; two sisters: Nell Wood of Greenville and Frances Brooks of Mesquite; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
