Services for Carolyn Kay (Young) Robinson, 58, of Colfax, will be held 10 am Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Crossroads Church in Canton with Bruce Clifton, Rev. Tim Wade and Dr. Joe Bob Alexander officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Blue Ridge.
Mrs. Robinson passed away June 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was born September 24, 1962 in Carlsbad, NM to Robert Woodrow and Linda Louise Black Young.
Carolyn was raised in Carlsbad. There she enjoyed marching in the Carlsbad High School Band, being a twirler, and playing softball. She had a lifelong love of baseball. Carolyn was also active in the youth group at First Baptist Church of Carlsbad. She cherished 4th of July celebrations at the Carlsbad Beach. Carolyn loved the mountains, especially her family cabin in Timberon. She earned her Master's Degree from the University of Texas at Dallas where she received the President's Award and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Carolyn was a speech and language pathologist and had a passion for helping people. She was a defender of those who could not communicate. Carolyn was a faithful wife and mother who was filled with wisdom, sought Godliness and was an incredible teacher of the Scriptures. She loved her Crossroads Church family.
Mrs. Robinson is preceded in death by her father, Woody Young; step-father, Charlie Dossey; and grandparents: Everett and Mary Young and Evelyn and Pinkney Black.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, John Mark Robinson of Colfax; son, John Taylor and Rebecca Robinson of Canton; daughter, Erynn Lee and Logan Moore of Van; daughter, Hannah Kay and Joshua Sharff of Lindale; seven grandchildren: Lydia, Annie, John Knox, Emmett, Gabby, Addie Kay and Evelyn Kay; mother, Linda Louise Dossey of Carlsbad; sister, Liz Madison of Carlsbad; brother, Robert and Cheri Young of Carlsbad; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ron Crumpler, Jearl Cunningham, Ken Martin, Gene Dick, Ed Killion and Billy Younglove. Honorary pallbearer will be Barry Griswold.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
