Services for Billy Ray Ramsey, 82, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 1 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor David Hicks and C.E. Vaughan officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Mr. Ramsey passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at his home. He was born January 7, 1934, in Colfax to Loy Jefferson and Norene Brown Ramsey.
Billy was a Baptist by faith and a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and Hella Shrine. He was a Master Mason. He owned and operated Ramsey Trailer Sales for 35 years in Myrtle Springs on Interstate 20. He was well known to many in the surrounding area with a reputation of fair and honest business practices to all walks of life.
Mr. Ramsey is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lou Ramsey; his parents; brothers, Bobby Wallace, Robert Wallace and a sister Lois Murphy.
Billy is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Gayle and C.E. Vaughan of Heath, Jan and Tommy Baker of Edgewood; son, Jeff Ramsey and Denise Hill of Wills Point; 10 grandchildren: Jim Tyler, Jodi Amaya, Laurie Harthcock, Brad Brooks, Andy Woolverton, Brandon Ramsey, Cameron Ramsey, Emily St. John, Alan St. John and Jesse St. John; 10 great-grandchildren: Lane and Landen Amaya, Taylor Neal, Kaylie and Dakota Willis, Maddison and Julianne Woolverton, Travis and Jaxson Brooks and Emily Garner; one great-great-granddaughter, Brynlee Sanson; two sisters: Lorraine Woodley and Shirley Foster; and his faithful best friend, Maxx.
Pallbearers are Andy Woolverton, Brad Brooks, Brandon Ramsey, Cameron Ramsey, Landen Amaya and Mark Ramsey.
If desired, memorials may be given to the Scottish Rite Hospital of Dallas.
