Betty was born October 3, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to Harold Griffiths Jansen and Bessie Sharp Jansen.
Betty was a 1949 Baylor graduate with her bachelors degree in Biology. While attending Baylor she met the love of her life Charles Edward Van Cleave Jr. They were married on June 9, 1950 in Dallas, Texas at Gaston Avenue Baptist Church where they were faithful members. She was a huge fan of all Baylor sporting events and loved going to all of them. Later, Betty was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church where she taught in the Training Union program for many years. Betty was an extremely talented artist. She owned her own craft shop, Betty's Knots & Things. She specialized in macramé and stained glass art. She loved teaching people to find their creative side. One of her favorite past times was playing games of all types with the family. Her favorite breakfast was a cup of coffee and a honeybun. She never turned down anything chocolate. She was always ready to throw a party. Her strong faith and love for Jesus will be greatly missed by the entire family.
