Benny Blanton, 77, of Forney, Texas passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas. He was born on May 11, 1947, in Camden, New Jersey to Benjamin Arlington Blanton II and Emily Margaret Whitcraft Blanton.
Benny grew up in Oak Cliff, Texas and graduated from Adamson High School in 1965. He often told stories of fun times with his grandparents, fishing and hunting trips, and fixing up and racing cars. Benny married Brenda Peel on April 25, 1969. They bought a home in Red Oak, Texas where they raised their son, Benjamin Arlington Blanton IV. Benny made sure that Ben always had his RC Cars up to speed, livestock ready for shows, and was equipped with abundance of hunting and fishing supplies! Benny enjoyed talking on his HAM Radios, traveling to Vegas (even if it was just for dinner and back), and racing his jet boat.
Benny was always a hardworking man. He worked as a mechanic at White Motor Company, salesman at Dallas Peterbilt and Texas Kenworth, and owned and operated his own business, Classic Truck Sales. After work Benny could always be found in his shop at home tinkering on cars, 3 wheelers, and farm equipment into the early morning hours.
Benny and Brenda moved to Forney, Texas in 2005 to be closer to family. When Emyrson Blanton was born a year later, she became the center of their world. Benny made sure that Emy aka baby-girl knew everything there was to know about hunting, guns, hard work, and dedication. When it came to baby girl money was no object for anything she desired.
Benny is preceded in death by his grandparents, Neoma Reeves Blanton (mom-mom) and Benjamin A. Blanton (pop-pop), parents, Benjamin A. Blanton II and Emily Blanton, and beloved wife, Brenda Sue Blanton. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ben, and Annie Blanton; granddaughter, Emyrson Blanton; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and John Cotton; niece, Alicia Scott and husband, Jeff; great niece and nephew, Brooke and Parker Scott; and many other friends he considered family.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Eubank Funeral Home, Canton, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 am at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Abel officiating.
