Barbara Parker Kirkland

On April 11, 2025, Barbara went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Barbara was born August 19, 1933 in Lewisville to Edward Alvin and Mildred Vernalee Heath Parker.

After graduating from Irving High School, she took correspondence courses to become a fashion illustrator. She then married Foy Kirkland on December 20, 1954. They lived in Irving for many years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. When they retired, they moved to Foy's beloved East Texas. Barbara was a member of the China Grove Baptist Church. She loved country music.

Mrs. Kirkland is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mildred Parker; and her husband, Foy Kirkland.

Barbara is survived by her son, David and Julie Kirkland; daughters: Linda and Howard Harris and Janet and Rod Bass; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Lynwood and Anna Parker; sisters: Patricia Straw and Beverly Hamilton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
