Alicia Smith

Funeral services for Alicia Smith, 90, are scheduled for 11 am Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton with Father Selvaraj Sinnappan officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.

Mrs. Smith passed away at her home in Canton on April 29, 2017. She was born August 18, 1926 in Loredo, TX to Alfonzo and Petra Rodrigues Ortiz.

Alicia was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton. She was a registered nurse for many years. She enjoyed painting, reading, gardening and loving her family.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Smith; and five siblings.

Alicia is survived by her two sons and their wives: Michael Anthony and Kristie Smith of LaPlace, Louisiana and Matthew Gene and Diana Smith of Watauga, TX; daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Tom Gill of Terrell; seven grandchildren: Michael Ryan Smith, Jaclyn Smith, Wesley Smith, Robert Frith, Joshua Frith, Alicen Tulane and Steven Frith; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dora Ramirez and Olga Weckworth; and a brother, Bobby Ortiz.

Pallbearers are Joshua Frith, Steven Frith, Robert Frith, Todd Tulane and Tom Gill.

Visitation will be 6-7 pm Tuesday with a Rosary from 7-8 pm.
