Walter G Galica

Walter G. Galica passed away April 13, 2016 at Rose Lane Nursing Home. Walt was born April 23, 1934 to Joseph and Nellie Galica in Grindstone (Rowes Run), PA. He married Loretta Torchia of West Brownsville, PA May 19, 1956. Walt served four years in the US Navy. He was an aviation electrician and air crewman. Walt was a truck driver and a member of Teamster Union for 32 years. He retired from Consolidated Freightway (CF) in 1995.

Preceded in death by his wife, Loretta (Torchia) Galica; brother, Fred; and sister, Dorothy (Kish). Survived by five children, Kathleen (Mike) Ragon, Daniel (Teri) Galica, David (Lynnette) Galica, Lori (Martz) Trumpis and Scott Galica; eight grandchildren, Luke Ragon, David, Daniel, and Steven Galica, Dr. Ryan (Brigitte), and Katelyn Galica, Jacob and Hanna Trumpis; brothers John (Virginia) Galica of Frostburg, MD; Thomas (Elenor) Galica of North Royalton, Ohio.

Private services were held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, with entombment in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Walter’s name may be made to your favorite charity or to Alzheimer’s Research. Arrangements under the direction of Karlo-Libby Funeral Home.
