Steven R. Wolf, a former resident of Uniontown and North Canton, Ohio, passed away at home with family by his side on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at age 74, following a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in Akron, OH to the late Ronald and Esther (Newman) Wolf. He was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Wolf.
Steve graduated from Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio. After holding several different jobs, including Security at Goodyear Tire and Rubber; he found his calling at Uniontown Police Dept. in Uniontown, Ohio. He started his career with UPD as a Reserve in 1973, became a Patrolman in 1979; quickly rising to the rank of Chief in 1983. He proudly served the community of Uniontown as Chief for thirty-two years. Steve took his job as Chief very seriously; enjoyed getting to know business owners and residents. Steve was also actively involved with: Stark County FOP, Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, as well as Uniontown Lions Club. After retiring from the UPD, and before relocating to Myrtle Beach, you might find him working at the Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market, collecting from vendors, or maybe flipping burgers on the grill. Where people gathered was his favorite place to spend time.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Carpenter) Wolf; daughters, Ronda (Scott) English, Shelley Tittle; grandchildren, Keegan and Sydney Tittle; as well as relatives and friends. He loved his family and friends very much.
