Ruth Elizabeth (Snyder) Elsass

She was born November 27, 1929 to the late R. Leo and Dorothy (Hossler) Snyder. Ruth graduated from Jackson High School in 1947. While waiting to start her family she worked at The Hoover Company, and in her later years, worked at St. Luke Lutheran Home. Together with her husband of 72 years, Verle Elsass, they raised five children. Ruth loved to garden and plant flowers at the church. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, North Canton.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother and sisters-in-law, Herbert E., Doris (Bridenthal), Esther (Pfahler) Snyder. She is survived by her husband, Verle Elsass; children, Gail (Joe) Vogt, Faye (Dale) Shankle, Ken (Debbie) Elsass, Todd Elsass, and Eric (Barb) Elsass; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, Ohio 44718. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 349 Lindy Lane Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or St. Luke Lutheran Home.
