Robert Hendershot

Robert E. Hendershot, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Canton, OH. He was born in Canton on May 26, 1927 to Earl and Marie (Resler) Hendershot. Robert served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Moose Lodge #233 and the Massillon Eagles. He owned his own plumbing business and was the President of the Ohio P.H.C.C. as well as the Secretary of the Stark P.H.C.C. and served on the Board of Apprenticeship. Robert was a member and volunteered at the Mayfield Senior Center Bingo. He also coached the Mitey Mites for 25 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dick, Don, Jerry, Jr. (Earl), and Chuck; sisters, Shirley and Pauline; grandson, Marc Hendershot. Robert is survived by his wife, Cora (Lucas) Hendershot; son, Daniel Hendershot; son, Randy R. (Debbie) Hendershot; son, Carl Hendershot; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family of Robert would like to specially thank the Allay Senior Care and Grace Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Research or Stark County Humane Society.
