Richard E. Cosgrove, age 85, of Louisville, formerly of Canton, died Thursday afternoon, January 6, 2011 at Astoria Nursing Home. He was born April 24, 1925 in Canton, OH to the late Clarence and Laura (Howard) Cosgrove. Richard was a US Army veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Canton Refrigeration and Heating.
Preceded in death by his wife, Janice V. (Foster) Cosgrove. He is survived by his children, Laura Gentile (Al Christner) of Canton, Richard L. Cosgrove (Debbie Scott Cosgrove), of Louisville, Clarence Cosgrove of Canton, and Dan Cosgrove of California; grandchildren, Richard Cosgrove II, Alaina Powell, Jennifer Tucker, Michael Gentile, Chad Scott, Christine Koontz and Julie Baker; eleven great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, William Foster of Canton.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, 4414 Cleveland Ave, NW, Canton, following cremation. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Green, OH 44232. Arrangements under the direction of Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, Canton, OH.
