It is with a mix of sorrow and peace that we announce the departure of Randall "Randy" Warren Geis, 79, of Canton, OH. Randy left us on January 30, 2025 during a brief stay at Aultman Compassionate Care Center following a 16-month illness that originated from a multiple myeloma diagnosis. Randy was surrounded by family, a favored caregiver, and a herd of deer just outside his window at the time he was called home.
He was born on April 6, 1945 in Massillon, OH. Randy graduated from Fairless High School in 1964 prior to honorably serving four years as a Communications Specialist in the United States Air Force. He later attended Kent State University.
Randy is preceded in death by his beloved fiancée Cynthia Strong; his parents Raymond and Geraldine Geis; his brother Charles Geis; and his nephew Nathan Geis.
He is survived by his son, Aaron Geis, and daughter-in-law, Cheri Arnett; his brother, Rick, and sister-in-law, Diane Geis; his sister, JeriRae, and brother-in-law, Bill Fair; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his friend and former wife, Elke (Schaefer) Geis.
Randy worked at Huntington Bank (formerly United Bank) in the Canton area for over 30 years where he retired as an Assistant Vice President. He was also owner of the Comic Corner, a collectible retail store, for over 10 years. During his retirement he found extreme joy through a new community of friends while working at Skipco Auto Auction where he drove vehicles around the region.
Through this passion of driving, he found a renewed love of classic cars and became a frequent attendee of several car shows where he proudly showcased his 1961 Chevy Impala. Randy seemed to have an infinite number of hobbies and interests, some of which included an obsession for seafood, a love of model railroading, watching movies, playing video games, traveling, and enjoying a vibrant and robust social life.
In accordance with his wishes, Randy has been cremated. We will make a future announcement regarding an early summer 2025 celebration of life for this one-of-a-kind soul.
