He was born August 12, 1936 in Wanego, WV to the late Roosevelt and Thelma (Helmick) Ashley, Sr.
Paul worked for Canton Drop Forge for 34 years and was Past Master of Trinity Lodge #710.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gregory Stump. He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Wandene, of the home; children, Reta (Gregory) Clapper, Paul (Chris) Ashley II, Larry Ashley, Nancy (Donald) Prete, and Karen Stump; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary (Jack) Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm in the funeral home, where a masonic service will be held Tuesday at 5:45pm.
