age 57 of North Canton, passed away after a short illness on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, in Mercy Hospital with his family by his side. Born Oct. 11, 1959, in Canton, Ohio, to James Park and Patricia Reiss Park. Mike graduated from GlenOak High School in 1978. He worked as a chef in the Boars Head Restaurant while attending classes at Kent State Stark. In 1982 he joined his father's company, Paarlo Plastics, Inc., and worked his way up from the bottom to Vice President of Engineering, learning all aspects of the blow molding business along the way. In 2013 he became the sole owner and president of the company. He often commented that he was one of the fortunate people who enjoyed his job. He was a talented artist and musician. In high school he and four friends formed a band called “Sunrise”. They enjoyed playing at festivals, private parties, and weddings, etc., but split up after graduation. Mike still played the guitar for his own enjoyment. He was an ardent Beatles fan. He also loved camping and fishing, and enjoyed many outings with his two best friends, John Bohland and Tom Leway. Mike was a quiet person, but had a great sense of humor as anyone who knew him well will verify.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Eva Reiss, Cornelia Park Joseph, and James D. Park. In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his sister, Linda (Rick) McDonald; and his niece and nephew, Nicole and Andy McDonald.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5th., in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, one hour before services, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association , P.O. Box 954, Wilton, N.H. 03086-0954.
