Melissa Tomsich

Melissa Tomsich, 35, Passed away on Friday, April 11th, 2025, after an almost 5 year battle with breast cancer. She died at the scenic Cleveland Clinic Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Fairlawn Ohio.

Melissa was born September 8th, 1989 at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, to Parents Victoria and Curt Riley. She went to Green High School, and continued her education at the University of Akron, studying Diagnostic Imaging. She worked at Akron General starting in 2015 as an Xray tech, and later became an MRI tech.

A Beautiful and Tenacious soul, Melissa was a much loved Momma bear, and an endlessly adored Wife, Daughter, Granddaughter, and Sister. With a sweet demeanor and a kind smile, She made many friends, even when she wasn’t trying to! Her charm and her story helped her to touch the lives of many friends, colleagues, care givers, and even patients.

She was preceded in death by her Loving grandparents George and Chloela Wright, her Uncle Charles Finley, and her eternally beloved German Shepherd dog Libby. She is survived by her Grandparents Mike Riley (Joan Blum), Sue Mageneu, Father Curtis Riley, Loving Mother Victoria Riley, Brother C. Michael Riley, Adoring Husband Johnathan, her Children Vincent and Mya Hale, Step-Daughter Faye, and her Sweet Josephine.

Calling hours will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home at 5000 Everhard Rd. NW. Canton, OH. on Thursday from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, with service immediately after. Her burial will be held Friday at 12:00pm at Sunset Hills Burial Park across the road from the Funeral Home.
