Mary Lou (Bricker) Harrington, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 29th in the home of her daughter, Cathy Lake, in Vermont with her daughters at her side. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Jim Lake of Barre, VT, and Cheryl and Steve Martin of Massillon, OH, as well as grandchildren Rebekah (Matt) Johnson and Elisabeth (Joshua) Frost of Vermont, Joel (Danielle) Martin of Uniontown, Laura (Dan) Costello of Toledo, OH, and Brian Martin of Massillon, great-grandson Landon Martin, of Uniontown, sister Barbara Wymer of Massillon, brother Rodney (Jan) Bricker and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Harrington, and her parents, Earl and Mary Bricker.
Mary Lou retired from the Jackson Local Schools where she worked as a secretary for many years. She was a long time member of the Canton Baptist Temple, and of the FaithBuilders Sunday School class. She spent the last three years of her life in the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jim Lake, in Vermont. She especially enjoyed the companionship of their two dogs, Maggie and Brutus.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Everhard Road, Canton with Rev. James Lake officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
Mary Lou was a loving mother and wife, a faithful friend, and will be sorely missed by those of us who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Lou’s honor can be made to Bible Baptist Church, 68 Vine Street, Barre, VT 05641.
