Larry Dayton Cross

He was born February 7, 1940 in Belmont, Ohio to the late Melvin and Elva (Burkhead) Cross. Larry was a graduate of New Athens High School, Class of 1958. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1958 to 1962. Larry retired from the Timken Company in 1998. He was a licensed auctioneer for more than 40 years. Larry was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and held membership in the Scottish Rite, Stark County Gun Collectors, Tri-county Classics Car Club, and the Sandy Valley American Legion. Larry was an antique car enthusiast, avid gun collector, and loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Helen Irene (Reed) Cross; two brothers, Alfred and Monte Cross; and one sister, Joann Cross Workman. He is survived by one sister, Shirley Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, military honors for Larry will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Hills Burial Park, 5001 Everhard Road NW, Canton, Ohio 44718.
