Karen was born January 25, 1943 in Erie, PA to the late James and Etta (Keil) Coulter. She spent her younger years living in Long Island, NY, and moved to Ohio as a freshman at Cuyahoga Falls High School. She graduated in 1961 and went on to Kent State University where she earned a degree in Education and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Karen taught for the Cuyahoga Falls school system until 1987. She later taught for the Cleveland Diocese at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School. As a resident of Stow, she ran the Senior Citizens Program for several years.
Karen is survived by her husband, Gary; sons, Wade (Amanda) Marousch, and Skip (Kelly) Henninger; daughters, Erica (Mike) Kayatin, and Andrea (Brent) Detwiler; grandchildren, Zach (Rachel) Henninger, Jake Henninger, McKenzie Henninger, Shelby (Matt) Lockhart, Casey Marousch, Sadie Marousch, Amber Detwiler, Marissa Detwiler, and Matthew Detwiler; great-grandchildren, Kali Henninger, Addie Henninger, and Cayden Lockhart; and sister, Kim Karshner.
A visitation for Karen will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, Ohio 44718, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Medical Center Hospice, 4369 Whipple Avenue NW, Canton, Ohio 44718.
