John was born March 16, 1969 in Crete, Greece to Theodore and Ermioni (Glyniadakis) Pappas. When he was 2 months old, they moved to the United States where he grew up in Lakewood and Seven Hills. In 1987, John graduated from Normandy High School and then went on to earn his Associate's in Electronic Engineering Technology from the National Technology Institute. On December 4, 1993, John married Kristine (Hudiak) Pappas, and was blessed with 28 years of marriage together. He worked for Diebold for over 25 years. During that time, he would wear many hats, climbing the ranks from a field technician fixing ATM's to the position of Director of Professional Services. Then he moved to DRB to work as the Director of Technical Operations. John loved to spend his time with his family, working on home projects, and making goofy internet videos with his daughter, Stephanie. John's family meant everything to him. He also had a dog, Cookie, who was his best friend for almost seven years. John will be remembered for his kindness, positive outlook, laugh, his freely-given smile, and his love for spaghetti. He would light up any room he walked into.
Along with his parents, Theodore and Ermioni, John is survived by his loving wife, Kristine, two children, Nick and Stephanie Pappas, three siblings: Matt (Jen) Pappas, Maria Pappas, and Marko (Rachel) Pappas, seven nieces and nephews, and his father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Marilyn Hudiak.
John is preceded in death by his best friend, Mike Pieniak, and the family dog, Cookie.
Calling hours for John will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 2-4 pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 4 pm with Reverend Gary Smith officiating.
