Jeanne Pernsteiner, age 81, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on April 18, 2022 after a short but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. More than anything her family meant the world to her. A true matriarch, she brought joy, laughter, peace and support to each family member. Her love of life and her positive spirit were infectious. Memories of special family trips, gatherings and unrivaled holidays will be cherished by all, and her impact in the lives of her family will live on forever. In addition to her family, she enjoyed spending time with a close group of friends. She will forever be remembered for her love of knitting and the creative flair that she brought to each project, for her success as a small business owner, for her love of travel, reading and staying up on current events and for being a Browns fan through good times and bad.
Jeanne was born on May 21, 1940, in Freeport, Long Island, NY to the late Edward and Gertrude “Peg” Florea. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 60 years and the love of her life, Clair Pernsteiner; her three children, Amy (Tom) Hart of Columbus, Tom (Kathi) Pernsteiner of Lakewood, Andy (Sarah) Pernsteiner of Shaker Heights; grandchildren Rachel Hart (Will) Welch, Emily Hart (Austin) White, Joey Hart, Ellie Pernsteiner (Drew) Koechley, Meg (fiancé Matt O’Kipney) Pernsteiner, Frank Pernsteiner, Henry Pernsteiner, Jake Pernsteiner, Joe Pernsteiner and Lauren Pernsteiner. She is also survived by her brother Dick Florea of Ft Wayne, IN.
Calling hours for Jeanne will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Monday, May 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 3rd at 10:00 am with a private interment to follow.
