James Patch Hill Jr.

James was born December 19, 1941 in Canton, OH to the late James Patch and Delsie (Gibbons) Hill, Sr. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps. Bud's life work was in active ministry at Bethel Temple, and more recently at Grace Fellowship where he served as a deacon, elder, Sunday School teacher, chemical dependency counselor, and on numerous mission trips. He also played harmonica for the church band. Bud was known as a mentor to many, and had a special calling to help people in need of recovery. He was an avid storyteller and loved to share his witty life stories. He had a flair for life and a passion for woodcarving and dancing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Hill Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Hartman) Hill; children, James Patch (Kristen) Hill, III, John Patch Hill, Jason Patch Hill, and Aimee (Christopher) Stutz; grandchildren, Ivy, Solomon Patch, Summer, Sicily, Madelynn, Hayden, Jackson, Olivia, Olivia Sue, Alex, David, and Elizabeth; sister, Darlene (Rick) Webster; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for James will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, Ohio 44718. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

James will be laid to rest in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, 7920 Frank Avenue NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
