I just learned of Jim's passing.  My heartfelt sympathy to Jim's family.
I worked with Jim many years at UPS.  He was one of THE nicest bosses I've every had.  He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and always asked how my family was doing.  He was so proud of his children and would beam when he spoke of them.  Our children were around the same age and Jim and I would share stories and advice with each other.
Ahhh Jim, you are missed...until we meet again my friend.

It is with my most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy that your husband and father is no longer with us to share in the joy and challenges of life.   I share in your feelings of loss because Jim was one of my very few friends that I shared similar life experiences with.   As you may know, Jim and I have known each other since 1978 when we both started working at UPS.  Over the years, I had the pleasure of observing Jim become a father to three wonderful children.   The most endearing qualities about Jim that I immediately respected early on was his strong commitment to family, friends, and his love for all the animals of the world.  Jim and Marsha were the very first people that I ever knew that owned a pet skunk.  Since that time, Jim and Marsha's home was always filled with a variety of pet cats and dogs.       

I've just returned from Jim's funeral where many beautiful words were spoken about Jim's life.  Dave, a long time friend of Jim gave a wonderful recap of Jim's life that intertwined humor with heartfelt emotion. Dave covered all the endearing qualities of Jim that were in my mind plus more that I was not aware of.  Ashley gave a heartbreaking talk that would make any person cry.   I can guarantee you that your dad was crying in heaven as you read those words of both joy and sadness. Ashley, your dad will be with you when you decide to walk “down the isle”, and he will be with you when you decide to have children.   Your dad would want you to watch the Disney movie “The Lion King” again to fully appreciate what I am saying.  Nathan provided a son's insight and feelings about a dad that was so extremely proud of all his son's accomplishments.  Nathan spoke of how many lives that his fathers life has touched and left me wanting to complete the 854-XXXX telephone number the moment he said it.  Of special meaning to me was one of Nathan's final comments about his dad which is how Jim would always remind him to “leave nature a better place than you found it”. before going on any fishing trip.  To Terrah, watching the tears stream down your face as your sister and brother spoke about your dad was almost unbearable.   I could not help but to think what Preston may have been thinking about his grandfather lying in front of the room.  Just beyond you was your mother with her head bowed down low as she fought back the emotions and tears that we all shared in during this mournful but celebrated day.  Jim's life was celebrated in the most ideal manner possible in my opinion.  Family, Friends, and others had the fortunate opportunity to hear about Jim's extremely loving and giving qualities that are so rare in today's world.    Jim……although I still cannot believe at times you left us…… thank you for the joy and love that you did share with us while here on Earth.

Jim was such a lively person always joking around and laughing, I don't think I have ever saw Jim not with a smile on his face. I did not know he served in the service. I am both proud and glad to say Jim was my cousin, he will never be forgotten. Prayers for Marsha and your whole family.

My best friend from 1st grade is gone, why? We shared so many great times, been through so much together, continued to talk every few months and still laughed so hard remembering the past. Now Jimmy is gone and I just don't know what to say or do. This is one of the saddest days of my life!

We are still in shock to learn of Jim's passing.  Less than one week since we were with him and the family and seeing him at his best, dancing the line dances in his own special way, talking to the friends of his kids like old friends do, being his usual exuberant self....amazing and heartbreaking that he can be gone so quickly.  Our hearts go out to the family and we wish you comfort and peace during this horribly trying time.  Keep those wonderful memories close and know that you have so many friends who are thinking of you and willing to assist in any possible way.  Sending our love and comforting wishes your way.

I did not know Jim, but he lived on the same street as my parents for many years. And even though he did not know me, when I would walk by he would always smile and wave. And every year my niece, nephews and I would always look forward to his Halloween decorations- he had the best is the neighborhood. My heart and prayers go out to his family. I can not even put in to words how we are all feeling right now. Jim was a huge part of our family while we were growing up. Our fathers were brothers. We had such a special bond as cousins. If you had to pick someone to be a part of your life it would be Jim. I am going to miss your phone calls. You were more than a cousin you were also a good friend to me and anyone you met. This is such a hug loss for your family and friends. I will never forget how lucky I was to have you as a part of my family and in my life.
