Charles Phillips Adkins

Charles was born in Coldwater on May 29, 1935 to the late Charles and Seressa (Smith) Adkins, Sr. After graduating from Culver Military Academy, he attended Ohio State University and earned his Bachelor of Finance degree and went on to work for City National Bank and Dime Bank as a Vice President. From 1959 to 1964, he served in the US Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged. Charles was a member of the North Canton Community Christian Church from 1977 to 2000. He also was a member of Rotary International. Charles was a train enthusiast. In his free time, he enjoyed Sudoku, golfing, reading, and caring for his dog, Riley.

Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia Adkins, three children: Charles “Chip” Adkins, III, Don “Alex” Adkins, and Claire (Andrew) Loose; four grandchildren: Olivia and Jonah Adkins, Gabriella Charley, and Ian Loose; as well as Patricia’s children: Diane, Edward, Beth, and Phillip Capri and Tricia Colella.

Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna “Chris” Adkins.

Per his family’s wishes, Charles will be cremated and a private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Charles’s name to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office Dog Warden Division at 4500 Atlantic Blvd, Canton, OH 44705.
