Betty Lou (Corey) Bowling, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 07, 2014 in Canton, Ohio. She was born in Canton on August 7, 1929 to Murval and Garnet (Ferguson) Corey. Betty was a graduate of McKinley High School and attended North Industry Christian Church. She owned and operated Family Fare Restaurant for a number of years. Betty loved animals, mystery shows, Jeopardy, bowling, tennis, crocheting, family games, was an avid Ohio State fan and followed local football teams.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rebecca Manley; and sisters, Gladys Spillman and Helen White. Betty is survived by her husband, Lowell Bowling; daughters, Debra Bowling and Shirley (Jeffrey) Gerberry; son-in-law, Patrick Manley; grandchildren, Sarah Manley, Andrew, Alex and Evan Gerberry; sisters, Virginia Bricker, Mary Zavarelli, and Jackie Paulus; brother, Murval Corey Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at North Industry Christian Church, 425 45th St SW, Canton, OH 44706 with Pastor Steve Kimbrel officiating. Private burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Industry Christian Church.
