Barbara Ann Schiltz, age 72, passed away with family at her side on December 27, 2015 after a recurring battle with cancer. She was born February 10, 1943 in Canton to the late Harold and Eleanor (Catazaro) Memmer and was a graduate of Timken High School, Class of 1961. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death in 2010 by her husband of 47 years, William Schiltz.
Barb was an active, independent, kind, modest, generous, and caring woman who will be forever missed, and lovingly remembered by her sons and daughter, Mark (Elizabeth) Schiltz, Michael (Heather) Schiltz, Julie (Henry S. V) Belden; her brothers, Harold (Pat) Memmer and Robert (Debbie) Memmer; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Carol) Schiltz, Marilyn (Tom) Cinson, Joanne Fox, Maryjane (Mark) Thomson, and James (Kathy) Schiltz; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Known to many as “Nana Barb”, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Henry S. Belden VI, Emma Belden, Eleanor Schiltz, Benjamin Belden, William Schiltz, Caroline Schiltz, Maggie Schiltz, and Sophie Schiltz.
Barb was an avid traveler and always looked forward to her next adventure. When not exploring the globe, she loved to golf and spend time with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton and was also a member of the St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Bonita Springs, FL.
The Schiltz family expresses sincere appreciation to The Cleveland Clinic and Aultman Hospital for their professional care and kind attention. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton, Ohio. Calling hours are Friday, January 1st from 5-8pm at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton and Saturday, January 2nd from 10-11am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 241South Main Street, North Canton where a memorial mass will follow at 11am.
