Barbara was born in October 9, 1948, in Canton, Ohio to the late James and Barbara (Kessler) Casper. Barbara, known to many as “Beige” and “BJ,” graduated from Canton Central Catholic School and then attended Kent State. She worked for 18 years at Blue Cross Veterinary Clinic before taking time to care for her father-in-law. Later, she worked for Hostetler and Son Builders in Hartville. Barbara was a long-time volunteer and enjoyed the residents of St. Luke’s Community, where she would visit and say the rosary. She enjoyed travelling with her family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and dinners out with the special group of ladies that she had been friends with since they were in elementary school at Our Lady of Peace in Canton.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John, two daughters, Barbee (Chris) Hendrix and Nancie Schick, and her brightest joys in life, her grandchildren: Nadiea, Aarika, Adrianna, Elliot, Maxwell, and Margaux. She leaves behind three sisters, Canice (Michael) Tolin, Mary Ann Casper, and Jane (Kevin) Briggs, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and the loving families they’ve grown. A lifetime of friends will be left to remember Beige, but she will be welcomed in Heaven by her special friend, Evan Fox, and her great-nephew, Adam Cutlip. Barbara shared her life with many animals at the veterinary clinic and her home and knew that she would one day be reunited with them.
Barbara wished to be cremated and to continue to travel and spend time with all those who loved her. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Barbara’s name to The St. Luke Foundation at the “Donate” tab at www.stllc.org.
