

STEWART KLEIN, noted and beloved local artist and long-time Sharon resident, passed away on May 15, 2012. He is survived by his companion Hannelore Hallinger & her family, his son Jonathan & daughter-in-law Sue; son Stephen; grandchildren Daniele, Sophia, Samuel & Benjamin Klein; his sister Violet Jacobs & brother Allen Klein & their families. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50+ years, Rosalie (Leibow) Klein. We already miss you very much Grandpa!
A graduate of the Franklin Institute of Design and the Pratt Art League in NYC, Stewart built a successful career as a graphic designer, artist and painter and was recognized with many awards in the commercial and art circles of New York and Boston. His barbershop quartet was another prize-winning avocation. After his wife Rosalie Klein passed away, he moved to San Antonio, TX where he spent the last decade of his life, painting and being with his companion Hannelore. His art hangs in private collections in the Northeast, California, Florida, Texas, and Chicago. Most recently, he was commissioned to create oil paintings of the Alamo, Mission Concepcion and Mission Espada for the president’s suite at the new Texas A&M University - San Antonio campus.
A service will take place at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton at 12:00 Noon on Monday May 21st followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park. Shiva will be held at the home of Jon and Sue Klein following the service and into the evening.
