Myrna grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Maury and Esther Natol. After graduating Newton High School and Boston University School of Education she taught elementary school. Later, she attended the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
Myrna held several development and leadership-level fundraising positions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Hillel, and Boston University. She then channeled her expertise to serve as a consultant and facilitator in strategic planning and executive coaching. She worked extensively with small businesses, many woman-owned, to help individuals launch, attract financing, and grow their enterprises. Myrna was proud to hold many leadership roles in the local and national Jewish communities, including being the first woman President of the Brockton Jewish Community Center.
Myrna married her beloved late husband, Richie, in August 1966 and was married for fifty happy years, living in Brockton and Falmouth. In her earlier years, Myrna played golf regularly, worked out daily and was an avid runner. She enjoyed watching golf and football throughout her life, especially football games when she and her grandson, Ben, texted each other. Myrna was a voracious reader and was especially interested in politics and Jewish life. She and Richie enjoyed travelling together, spending many winters in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Myrna leaves her sister, Sheila Kates (Seldon), daughter, Marni Schwartz (Andy), and son, Alan Schultz (Alisa). She also leaves four grandchildren: Samantha Schwartz (Josh), Ben Schwartz, Ellie Schultz and Toby Schultz. She had many close friends, some going back several decades, but Myrna said more than once that the most important thing to her was family - “Family is my first and foremost priority.”
